It frees humans from repetitive tasks, letting us focus on risk analysis and exploratory work—the things that actually protect product quality.

But when those foundations are missing, AI doesn’t save time; it magnifies confusion. It generates false confidence, giving managers the illusion of coverage while the real defects quietly sneak through.

So if you want to make the most of AI in testing, start not with the tool but with your process. Build clarity before you build automation.
